Inflation in the UK rose slightly more than expected in December, to 3.4 percent according to the CPI measure. It had been expected to rise to 3.3 percent, according to a Bloomberg compilation.
At the same time, core inflation was slightly lower than expected, landing at 3.2 percent compared to the expected 3.3 percent. Services inflation was also slightly lower than expected.
