The organisation Books by People calls the label “organic literature.” To qualify, publishers must register and be interviewed. Each book is then reviewed through manuscript history, copyright agreements, and a so-called signature analysis, among other things.
First up were smaller independent publishers, but interest is now also increasing among large British publishers, according to Books by People spokesperson Esme Dennys.
"The feeling of security is no longer what it once was. I think that's why more and more people are turning to us," Dennys tells SVB.
The Swedish Publishers Association has not been in contact with Books by People but views clear labelling positively and is working on recommendations linked to the EU's AI law.
