"I will not stand by and watch as these cherished local meeting places disappear and are replaced by boarded-up windows and signs stating that the premises are for sale," writes Britain's newly elected Prime Minister Andy Burnham on X, promising a 20 percent reduction in property tax for businesses.

The reduction is estimated to cost the state around 100 million pounds, just under 1.3 billion SEK, a year.
