The province's Attorney General Niki Sharma says they want to see accountability and change from OpenAI. The company's CEO Sam Altman has previously said he regretted not contacting the police after the account was suspended.
"I believe an apology is necessary to acknowledge the harm and loss that has been inflicted on your community," Altman wrote in April in the apology addressed to the small town of Tumbler Ridge where the mass shooting occurred.
The company has also been sued by the family of one of the victims in the shooting.
