New British Defence Minister Wes Streeting began Tuesday by promising the equivalent of SEK 1.3 billion in new aid to Ukraine, including Patriot missiles.
Then German colleague Boris Pistorius filled in when he and Streeting hosted a digital meeting with the countries in the so-called Ramstein Group, the Contact Group for Ukraine's Defence.
"I have decided . . . to deliver urgently needed PAC-2 (Patriot) missiles from the German defence stockpile. I urge all countries in the group to look into their own stocks and make similar decisions," Pistorius said.
Ukraine's new Defence Minister Yevheniy Chmara warned at the same time that Russia plans to mobilise an additional 300,000 soldiers.
