According to the British Ministry of Defence, an underground facility where IS is believed to have stored weapons was attacked. The airstrike was carried out late Saturday evening near the historic city of Palmyra.
"The facility had been occupied by Daesh (IS), likely to store weapons and explosives. The area around the facility is free of civilians," the Ministry of Defence said in a statement.
The United States has also recently carried out several attacks against alleged IS targets in Syria.
