Brent Hinds, known as guitarist and one of the singers in the metal band Mastodon has died in a motorcycle accident, writes Atlanta News First.
In a post on Instagram, the band writes that they are "crushed and shocked" by the news of the death. Hinds was however no longer a part of the band. In March, the news came that Hinds had left Mastodon after 25 years together. He himself claimed as recently as last week that he was in fact kicked out by the other members, writes NME.
The fatal accident occurred in Atlanta, where Hinds had his residence, on Wednesday evening.
Members Troy Sanders, Brent Hinds, Bill Kelliher and Brann Dailor met at a gig in 2000 and then formed Mastodon. Two years later, they released their debut album "Remission". The band played in Sweden as recently as 2022.
In December, Brent Hinds would have come to Sweden and performed two gigs as a solo artist.
