The sale of fruits and vegetables has increased for two quarters in a row, according to the Swedish Daily Goods Trade's fruit and vegetable index.
The volume increased during the second quarter of 2024 by 5.1 percent compared to the same period last year.
"Throughout 2022 and 2023, all measurement periods have shown a volume decline, until 2024 when we can see that volumes are increasing again. However, to achieve the National Food Agency's recommended intake of 500 grams of fruits and vegetables per person and day, longer periods of sustained sales growth are required," says Karin Brynell, CEO of Swedish Daily Goods Trade, in a press release.
The SCB (Statistics Sweden) noted in the spring that prices of fruits and vegetables have decreased.
