Frölunda has had a tough period behind it. As the injuries piled up, the results have also declined and before the meeting in Småland, the league leader had gone winless in four matches.
The start of the game did not provide any reassuring news either. After just 90 seconds, Växjö took the lead.
But the Gothenburg team fought back. In the second period, Jere Innala stepped up and equalized - before Filip Cederqvist took the lead. The forward netted twice and managed to turn the deficit into a 3–1 victory.
The victory means that Frölunda maintains its grip on the league lead. The gap to second-place Skellefteå is three points.
