Shortly after the final whistle blew in the World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, celebrations turned into chaotic scenes.
Several players were involved in a major brawl that broke out after Argentina's Leandro Paredes grabbed Spain's Eric Garcia by the throat.
"Paredes took two or three real swings at someone's face. He really went on the attack. There's no place for that," said pundit Alan Shearer on the BBC.
Argentina's national team captain Lionel Scaloni rushed in and got his players away from the brawl, after which things calmed down.
Spain took home the World Cup title after Ferran Torres' 1-0 goal in extra time.
