The midfielder, formerly of Marseille but now of Fenerbahce, not only angered the crowd; his words and gestures also caused the players and officials in Lyon to lose their composure.
"Everyone knows I'm at Marseille and I've never hidden it. It's about friendly provocation and it goes both ways," Guendouzi said, according to RMC Sports and as Aftonbladet reports.
In the chaos after the match, several players and officials clashed. One member of Lyon's management team is reported to have been injured.
Fenerbahce won the two-legged tie 3-2 and are through to the Champions League group stage. The draw will be made tonight.
