New Jersey scored the first goal and took the lead after just over seven minutes, but home team Philadelphia quickly turned things around in tonight's match. With four straight goals in the first period – three of which came in the space of 26 seconds – they took control of the game, which ended 6–3.
Timo Meier was the first goal scorer for New Jersey, while Nico Hischier scored the other two goals. Swedish star Jesper Bratt played in all of New Jersey's goals and was noted for three assists. Last season, the 27-year-old was the Swedish scoring king in the NHL with 88 points.
For New Jersey, it is the third straight loss after a five-game away tour.
