The upcoming film is said to be a so-called prequel, which takes place before the events in the heist comedy "Ocean's eleven" from 2001.
Previous information has claimed that the film will take place in Europe in the 1960s.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee Isaac Chung will be in charge of the direction and filming is expected to start next year.
A "Ocean's fourteen" with the "eleven" gang George Clooney, Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt is also in the works in the film series, which originally is based on the comedy "Storslam i Las Vegas" from 1960.
