The police rushed to the residence in the Los Feliz area on Wednesday evening. Three thieves allegedly climbed over a fence into the yard and then entered through a window.
The crime occurred in the middle of Pitt's worldwide PR tour for the new film "F1" and he was therefore not at home.
The home was "plundered", according to sources, but it is unclear what has been stolen. Investigators will review surveillance footage in search of clues.
It is unknown whether the thieves deliberately targeted the film star's home or if the house was randomly selected.
Brad Pitt bought the house in 2023 for 5.5 million dollars, equivalent to approximately 52 million kronor, according to the real estate site Traded, writes AP.
Pitt's representative has declined to comment.
