A 16-year-old boy tried to blackmail Lucas Simonsson, a member of the comedy group JLC, for a quarter of a million kronor. He has now been sentenced to youth care and 45 hours of youth service, reports Göteborgs-Posten.

It was during the spring of last year that the boy, who was then 15 years old, twice showed up at Simonsson's house. On the second occasion, the boy was masked and had a weapon-like object.

The boy is now being sentenced for preparation for blackmail, attempted aggravated blackmail, aggravated unlawful threats and molestation. He denies the charges.

Two members of the comedy group have received a lot of attention since they found gold and platinum bars worth around SEK 13 million in a house they bought in the fall of 2023. According to Simonsson, the extortion attempts were likely linked to the gold find.
