The dispute is based on the artist's new AI-generated, pro-Israel reggae song, whose title refers to the documentary about Hamas' attack on the Nova 2023 festival. Billboard writes that, according to the singer, record label boss Tony Pontius refused to have anything to do with the song, which led to them going their separate ways.

The song has sparked strong reactions and had further consequences. Last week it was announced that the 65-year-old is dropping out of his role as King Herod in the musical “Jesus Christ Superstar” in London.
