Bournemouth started the season strongly but have since fallen steadily down the table. The south coast club arrived at Old Trafford in Manchester without a win in their last six league games and the dismal streak continued.
Yet the prospects for a completely different outcome were bright for a while in the second half, when Evanilson and Marcus Tavernier turned a 1–2 deficit into a 3–2 lead.
United responded with two goals in three minutes and suddenly Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha ensured that United had the upper hand.
But the entertaining match featured one more goal – Eli Junior Kroupis' equalizer to make it 4–4 with five minutes remaining.
