The New York Stock Exchange closed mixed on Monday evening, despite several AI-related news stories driving up prices. Similar trends were seen in trading on Asian exchanges on Tuesday.
Japan's Nikkei 225 index is down 0.1 percent while the broader Topix index is up 0.3 percent.
The stock exchanges in Shanghai and Shenzhen, China, are falling, by 0.2 and 1.3 percent respectively.
However, the Hang Seng in Hong Kong rose 0.3 percent.
South Korea's Kospi is falling sharply, and was down 1.5 percent in the middle of the trading day.
