Boston dominated from the start and took home the win in the first NBA finals against Dallas, with 107-89.

Kristaps Porzingis returned with bravado after missing 10 matches due to a injured leg – and was a central player when Boston took the lead after the first period with 37-20.

Total, Porzingis was noted for 20 points, six rebounds, and three blocks. Jaylen Brown scored the most points for the winning team: 22.

However, Luka Doncic of Dallas did even better with 30 points, but it wasn't enough and Boston took the win. Doncic takes the loss with a smile and points out that Dallas has lost the opening match in three of four playoff series this season.

Boston thus takes the lead in the series, which is played best of seven. The next match is played on Monday, June 10.

Boston has won a total of 17 NBA titles, the last time being 2008. Dallas has won the league once, in 2011.
