Ukraine's offensive in Russian Kursk is a "hard blow" to Russian President Vladimir Putin's war narrative, writes EU's Foreign Minister Josep Borell on Wednesday on X. The Union's top diplomat also demands that the restrictions on Ukraine's use of Western weapons in Russia be lifted.
Borell also writes that lifting the restrictions would strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities, save lives, and promote peace efforts.
According to Borell, the issue will be discussed during meetings with EU foreign and defense ministers taking place on August 29 and 30 in Brussels, in the presence of Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.
The Ukrainian offensive into Russia has been going on for over two weeks. It has exposed weaknesses in the Russian defense as Ukrainian forces quickly managed to penetrate Russian territory.
