Leila Inanna Sultan receives the prestigious award "for a diverse collection of poems that, with unguarded seriousness, depicts the oppression of the security machine," as stated in the citation.

"There were five very strong debut books nominated this year. Leila Inanna Sultan's 'Straffkolonien' is both a frightening and fantastic collection of poems that says so much about the times we live in," says Borås Tidning's cultural director Hanna Grahn.

Borås Tidning's debutant prize of 150,000 kronor is Sweden's largest prize for fiction debutants and has been awarded since 2001, when it went to Lotta Lotass.
