Borås man jailed for embezzling nearly 2 million kronor from clothing company

A man in Borås transferred nearly two million kronor from his employer to himself over five years. He has now been sentenced to prison.

The man held a job with financial responsibility at a major clothing company. He managed to transfer money from his company card to a fake supplier whose account was actually his own, writes Borås Tidning.

The man has said that he used the money to gamble on horses and to buy gadgets, travel, fine wines and cars.

Just a sick life, where many want more. In other words, an extravagant life. I can't handle money, he said after admitting to the crimes.

The district court sentenced the man to one year and two months in prison for gross breach of trust. He must also pay almost two million kronor in damages to his former employer.
