Seven teenagers were injured in the fire. All were initially taken to Södra Älvsborg Hospital in Borås. Two were transferred to Queen Silvia Children's Hospital in Gothenburg, and one was flown by helicopter to the burn centre in Linköping.

According to the region's injury report early Saturday morning, the person in intensive care in Linköping has life-threatening injuries.

The condition of the four teenagers being treated at Södra Älvsborg Hospital is stable.

According to an updated casualty report at 8 a.m., the condition of the four who remain in hospital is serious but stable, says Alexandra Perez Liberg at the hospital's press service.

Borås Tidning reports that the two who were transferred to Queen Silvia Children's Hospital are slightly injured.

The fire, which broke out in Fristad in Borås municipality, was reported shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday.

"A group of young people had been tinkering in the garage, and a small amount of petrol leaked out and caught fire," Viktor Fritzson, external commander and rescue leader, told Borås Tidning on Friday evening.

The police have filed a report of negligent conduct causing public danger.

There is no suspect, but we will look into this more closely to find out what happened, says police spokesperson Caroline Nylander.
