Investor sentiment in the eurozone is improving more quickly than expected, according to a monthly index from German research firm Sentix.

The Sentix index rose to 4.2 in February. This compares with December's level of minus 1.8.

With the lift in February, the index is now at its highest level since July 2025, when it was at plus 4.5.

Analysts had on average expected a lift in February, but only to the zero level.

A value above zero indicates optimism among investors, while a value below zero indicates pessimism.

As for the current situation, the index strengthens to minus 6.8, from minus 13.0 in January. The sub-index for investor expectations rises to plus 15.8 from plus 10.0 in January.
