Tyler died in early July in a hospital in Portugal after a short illness. She was 75 years old.
On Monday, a memorial service will be held for the singer at St Mary's Church in Swansea before she is buried in her hometown of Skewen, where she was born in 1951.
The ceremony will be broadcast live on the artist's official website and will also be available to watch on large screens outside the church.
"She always came home and back to her fans in Wales. Her songs really touched a lot of people here, we loved her very much," said Carys Edwards, 18, who was one of those who turned up.
The Welsh pop star with the raspy voice was supposed to go on a European tour in May, but had to be hospitalized in Portugal and undergo emergency surgery for intestinal problems.
