The British singer has been hospitalized in Portugal after emergency intestinal surgery. On May 8, she was placed in a coma after complications arose. But now she is on the road to recovery.
"Bonnie is no longer in a coma, but is still seriously ill. Although her condition is improving, recovery is slow. Doctors believe she will be able to recover, but it will take time," her manager tells Bild.
All of Bonnie Tyler's concerts scheduled for the summer have therefore been canceled and postponed until next year.
Tyler, born Gaynor Hopkins, had her big breakthrough in the 1980s with "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and is also known for songs like "Holding Out for a Hero" and "It's a Heartache."
She and her husband, Robert Sullivan, have a vacation apartment in Portugal.
