This is evident from a text copy of Bondi's opening statement from Friday's House Oversight Committee hearing, NBC News reports.

Bondi, who was fired in early April, has previously been questioned about the Justice Department's handling of the Epstein documents.

Her overall message remains that the publication - which was forced after a decision in Congress - was done correctly.

“There was improper masking,” she said, but added that the department is “committed to accountability and transparency.”

According to Democrat Dave Min, Bondi refused to answer questions about President Donald Trump, the AP reports.
