Brazil's former president Jair Bolsonaro has begun his prison sentence.
The right-wing radical politician was recently sentenced to 27 years in prison for trying to stage a coup after losing the 2022 election, when his supporters stormed parliament and government buildings.
Bolsonaro has been under house arrest since August this year, when he was deemed a high flight risk. His lawyers want the 70-year-old Bolsonaro to serve his sentence at home, as they believe that imprisonment would have posed a danger to his health.
