In the corresponding quarter last year, Boliden made a profit of 765 million.
Sales revenue during the quarter rose to 25.7 billion, up from 22.3 billion a year earlier.
Both earnings and sales were below expectations, according to Bloomberg.
"We face certain challenges, but with 12 business units you cannot always expect everything to run smoothly everywhere, and our long-term development remains positive," says Mikael Staffas, Boliden's CEO, in a comment in the report.
