Boliden lowers forecast for Garpenberg mine after abnormal seismic activity

Adjusted operating profit in the first quarter rose to SEK 4.4 billion, up from SEK 2.6 billion. The average forecast among analysts was SEK 4.6 billion.

Sales revenue rose to SEK 27.8 billion, from SEK 21.1 billion.

"As a result of the abnormal seismic activity in Garpenberg on March 14, the enriched volume for 2026 is estimated to be 1.5 million tons (the previous guidance for 2026 before the abnormal seismic activity was 3.7 million tons)," writes Boliden.

"The ramp-up of Garpenberg after the incident will be gradual," the company adds.
