The wells in connection to the waterworks in Skorped overflowed during the rainstorm and the plant was shut down during Sunday. Now it is up and running again and functions as it should but the water may be cloudy and should therefore be boiled.
"As a safety measure after a weekend of heavy rainfall in Skorped, water used for food, drink and toothbrushing should be boiled", writes Environment and Water in Örnsköldsvik in a press release.
The water can, however, be used for washing and hygiene.
The boiling recommendation applies to Skorped, Mosjö, Uberg, Djupsjö, Sjöland and Överå. It can be lifted at the earliest on 11 September when an analysis of the water quality will be completed.
