"The sinking of the Estonia has been a wound for several decades, not least for all those who lost relatives in the disaster. What the Swedish Accident Investigation Board is now finishing with is an extensive investigative work that has been conducted together with the neighboring countries concerned," says Bohlin in a written statement.
He further says that it has been important for the government to allocate additional money to review "claims and theories" surrounding the disaster.
"The Accident Investigation Board's conclusions are now available for review and I welcome that. I also note that the Accident Investigation Board has concluded that there are no grounds for further investigations."
