A jury in Chicago has reached a verdict.

A Boeing 737 MAX crashed in Ethiopia in March 2019, killing 157 people. The family of 24-year-old Samya Stumo has been awarded $49.5 million in damages.

All other cases brought by relatives against Boeing after the crash were settled out of court.

Just five months before the accident, a similar crash occurred in Indonesia, killing 189 people. Both accidents led to the aircraft model being taken out of service.
