Rescue services and police were alerted to the scene just before 2 am on Sunday.
When the rescue services had put out the fire, a dead person was found in the car, says Mats Eriksson, the police's press spokesperson.
According to Eriksson, the car is owned by a car rental company. At present, it is unclear who rented the car.
The police know when the car arrived at the scene and when it started burning, since there are surveillance films.
The police have initiated a preliminary investigation into murder.
We will find out who it is and how this person died, says Eriksson.
The police have cordoned off an area around the car, which has also been seized, and a technical examination of it will be conducted.
