Bodø/Glimt won the second leg at home 3–0 and advanced 6–1 on aggregate.
NEC Nijmegen got off to a nightmare start when goalkeeper Gonzalo Crettaz was shown a red card in the third minute after handling the ball outside the penalty area.
The home team scored twice in first-half added time, through Fredrik André Bjørkan and Sondre Auklend. In the second half, it went to 3–0 after an own goal.
Bodø/Glimt made it all the way to the round of 16 in the Champions League last season after the team beat giants such as Manchester City and Atletico Madrid in the league phase and Inter in the round of 16.
The league phase of this year's Champions League will be drawn on Thursday.
