Bodø/Glimt went to victory for the first time ever in Champions League against Tottenham. A late equalizer from the away team however wrote the final score to 2–2. At the same time, Alexander Isak's Liverpool suffered a tough 0–1 loss against Turkish Galatasaray.

The Champions League party reached new heights in Bodø – nine miles north of the Arctic Circle. For the first time, the Norwegian success team played a home match in the tournament.

Tottenham, with Swedish super talent Lucas Bergvall in the starting lineup, was on the other side.

After a goalless first half, the event took off seven minutes into the second. Jens Petter Hauge cut in from the left and elegantly scored 1–0 behind a helpless Tottenham goalkeeper.

After just over an hour, Bergvall left the pitch and seconds later Hauge struck again. This time with a heavy finish from the edge of the penalty area, which meant 2–0 and put the Norwegians firmly in the driver's seat.

Tottenham responded immediately. Micky Van de Ven headed in 2–1 and created nerves in the final minutes. The equalizer would also come after a clumsy own goal in the 89th minute.

It was the second match in a row in the Champions League that Bodø/Glimt played 2–2, most recently against Slavia Prague.

Elsewhere, Liverpool, with national team star Alexander Isak on the bench, fell heavily in Istanbul. Victor Osimhen sank "The Reds" with the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the first half.

Isak was substituted in in the second half and coach Arne Slot motivated the decision to bench the star before the match:

I have to rotate for luxury reasons, but also without luxury reasons, since Isak does not have a full preseason, said Slot to Sky Sports.
