A total of 95 refugees were reportedly on board the two boats. According to the Red Crescent, the people on board were from Bangladesh, Egypt and Sudan.
According to figures from the UN migration organization IOM, around 34,000 people have lost their lives in the Mediterranean trying to reach Europe since 2014.
