These are six so-called lead-cooled modular reactors, which together will be able to produce approximately 300 megawatts of electricity. This corresponds to the annual consumption of 300,000 households, the government writes.
"The fact that we are now receiving another application to build new nuclear power plants shows that the financing model with state support is working well," said Minister of Financial Markets Niklas Wykman (M) in a comment.
Blykalla has previously submitted an application for a land permit. This is the second application for state support that the government has received.
