IFK Göteborg came into Saturday's match against Hammarby after a turbulent week. After the heavy 0-6 defeat against Djurgården in their previous match, "Blue and White" were second-to-last in the Swedish league after six rounds played. Moreover, they have not won yet during the season.

But Blåvitt wouldn't get three points this time either.

Never before

On the contrary, they are now writing themselves into the history books from a gloomy perspective. Never before in the club's history have they gone winless after the opening seven rounds in the top league. And never before have they had such a poor points record after seven rounds.

The match got off to an intense start, with IFK Göteborg creating chaos in the visitors' penalty area early on. August Erlingmark had a chance to finish, but his attempt went wide.

After that, Hammarby gradually took over the game and pressed IFK in their own half. The visitors came close to creating several dangerous chances - including after a corner when Victor Lind had a shot. However, the shot went wide of the goal.

Will run like clockwork

The second half was characterized by struggle and lacked the bigger scoring chances. 0-0 looked like the final score for a long time. Then Hammarby center back Victor Eriksson stepped up and scored the winning goal in the 94th minute of the match.

Blåvitt is still second to last in the Allsvenskan table, with three points recorded, two points above bottom-placed Halmstad.

Despite the crisis, goalkeeper Elis Biseshari is optimistic.

Of course it's tough. We do everything on the pitch and try. Unfortunately it's not enough this time. But we will stand up this time too, he tells TV4 Play and continues:

This is just the beginning and things can be improved. Once it's in place, it will run like clockwork.

For Hammarby it was the fifth straight match without a loss. "Bajen" is second in the table, two points behind league leaders Sirius, who however have one less match played.
