The announcement comes after Thursday's meeting in Qatar's capital Doha.
Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani says that Thursday's meeting was "fruitful" and that efforts to reach a ceasefire continue.
According to al-Thani, talks with terrorist-listed Hamas have resumed since the movement's leader Yahya Sinwar was killed in Gaza last week.
We have re-established contact with them. /.../ We have had a few meetings with them in the past few days, he says.
Israel, on the other hand, announces that it is sending Mossad chief David Barnea to the new negotiations. The announcement comes through a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office.
Barnea will travel to the negotiations in Doha on Sunday and will then meet with CIA chief Bill Burns and Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani.
During his visit to Qatar, Blinken simultaneously announced 135 million dollars, equivalent to approximately 1.4 billion kronor, in new support to the Palestinians.
The money will, according to Blinken, go towards, among other things, humanitarian aid, water purification, and maternal care in Gaza and on the West Bank.
