Just over 20 minutes after kick-off, the derby between Örgryte and IFK Göteborg was called off after full time and Felix Eriksson's late winning goal.

After the 3-2 victory, "Blue and White" repeated their criticism that the match was not completed on Monday. Not least, the post-match meeting took far too long, according to security manager Jonas Arlmark.

"I would say the effective time for the meeting is fifteen minutes. The rest is waiting time," he says.

At the Police Authority, I would say.

According to Arlmark, the police were initially late for the meeting. But even after the initial discussion, the meeting dragged on, he points out.

"In addition, when the meeting time drags on for so long, that also becomes a factor. The scope for measures to be able to resume the match is reduced because so much time passes," says Jonas Arlmark.

"The way it works right now is not good."

"Unacceptable" events

He is partly supported by Örgryte veteran Tobias Sana.

"The only thing I can feel is that maybe there should be a quicker decision on whether we should play or not," he says.

The incidents that led to the interruption – that a fire started in the blue-and-white away stand – are a completely different matter, believes Jonas Arlmark.

"To put it bluntly, it would be best if these types of incidents disappeared. If we can get rid of these events, which are unacceptable in themselves, that would be the best."

"But once it happens, we need to be efficient in how we handle it."

"Standing behind"

The police in the West region did not want to comment on their working methods in connection with the football matches on Tuesday.

Magnus Åberg, who was deputy operational manager during the match, however, supports the decision to cancel the derby.

"The organizer has assessed that the measures they took and the measures they could possibly take would not be sufficient to ensure continued order and safety," he told TT on Tuesday morning.

"The organizer chose instead to cancel the match. It is a decision that the Police Authority fully supports."
