Häcken had practiced on final pushes – both as a team in a disadvantageous position and as a team in an advantageous position.
Maybe that's what paid off in the final seconds of the derby.
We were in the same situation against Norrköping (lost 3–3 in added time), says Häcken coach Pål-Arne "Paco" Johansen.
So the last kick on goal, we practiced that during the week, in both directions. We thought it could be tight.
The sixth and final added minute in the derby began to come to an end when Häcken, in a last desperate attempt, sent the ball up towards IFK Göteborg's goal – and equalized.
"No structure"
Thus, "Blåvitt" lost new points on added time under Stefan Billborn, who took over as coach last summer.
We are far too scattered, there is no real structure at all, says Stefan Billborn disappointedly afterwards.
It's clearly not good, it's about playing out the time. Then what it depends on, it's certainly many factors. But we must be more cynical in the last minute.
Maybe, continues IFK Göteborg coach, the players were not quite present at the end.
But defender August Erlingmark does not quite agree with that.
I think we fight like hell all the way, he says.
It's clearly sloppy to let in again at the end. But I don't think it's about us not being there mentally. It's more about the details, quality, in that case rather.
"Too bad"
IFK Göteborg took the lead three times in the away derby against Häcken. It's the first time in a long time that the team has scored three goals in the same match – but it still wasn't enough.
Instead, IFK Göteborg, which now has eight consecutive matches in Allsvenskan without a win – lost another two points on added time.
It's too bad, of course. And points that we had needed, so it's tough, says August Erlingmark.
