Blackstenius was substituted in the 60th minute of the match with the score at 1–0. Just over fifteen minutes later, she stepped forward, scored the 2–0 goal, and thus established the final score.
The goal was her sixth of the season in the Super League. The victory means Arsenal take three important points in the hunt for the Champions League places. The London club are now just two points ahead of second-placed Manchester United with a game in hand.
Arsenal's Smilla Holmberg remained on the bench, while London City's Kosovare Asllani came on in the 65th minute.
