American Blackrock, one of the world's largest fund managers, drew in 46 billion dollars to its investment fund during the second quarter. The managed capital thus grew to record-high 12,500 billion dollars (equivalent to 120,000 billion kronor).

Blackrock also drew in 9.8 billion dollars to alternative investments – unlisted assets – during the quarter and is increasingly challenging traditional venture capitalists such as Blackstone, Apollo Global Management and KKR & Co.

In July, Blackrock completed its acquisition of HPS Investment Partners for 12 billion dollars, the third major acquisition Blackrock has made in a year and a half.
