The Swedish company Pophouse is now also buying Tina Turner's song catalog, writes Dagens Industri. Pophouse, founded by Björn Ulvaeus and Conni Jonsson, is acquiring a majority share of the rights to the singer's music catalog from BMG.
"We will now embark on a series of creative projects to celebrate Tina Turner's remarkable music and persona and secure her legacy as the queen of rock 'n' roll," says Pophouse CEO Jessica Koravos in a press release.
The company has previously purchased the rights to the song catalogs of Avicii, Kiss and Cyndi Lauper, among others. A television series based on Cyndi Lauper's music is planned, the company's CEO at the time stated in 2024.
