Tennis star Björn Borg tells in his upcoming autobiography "Hjärtslag" about the problems he had with drug abuse, reports Expressen.

”The first time I tried cocaine, I got a kick just as big as I once got from tennis”, he writes in the book according to the newspaper.

Björn Borg, who previously said that he tried cocaine on one occasion, tells about a drug problem that lasted for several years in his new autobiography.

The problems took off after he ended his tennis career for the first time and escalated during his time in Milan and during his marriage to Loredana Bertè.

Cry for help

In ”Heartbeat” Borg describes how Loredana Bertè in 1989 had to call an ambulance when she couldn't get him to come to – something that in the book is described as an overdose and a cry for help.

”What happened was that I had a dangerous combination of drugs, pills and alcohol in my body that led to me becoming unconscious”, he writes according to Expressen.

After the collapse, he took ”it a bit easier with the drugs”, but writes further:

”But then the weeks passed. The demons came back. New things happened and suddenly I was stuck again.”

And on another occasion in the 90s, his body gave up after a party night.

”Later, I was told that it could also have ended really badly, that they had managed to revive me because kind-hearted people around me had made sure I got help quickly.”

Playboy Mansion

Aside from the drugs, Björn Borg also reveals some things about his much-publicized relationships with different women. Among other things, that he rarely ended a relationship before he started the next one and that he also partied at Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion.

”The place was teeming with all sorts of offers that were hard to say no to”, he writes.

Since 2002, however, he has been happily married to Patricia Borg, whom he calls his ”guardian angel”.

Borg's autobiography, which is released on Thursday, has been marked by great secrecy and so far he has only given one interview with the news agency AP.

But he also participates in the program ”Skavlan and Sweden” which is broadcast on Thursday evening – where he, according to Expressen, will talk about his drug problems.
