At first a beaver was blamed for the extensive power outage in Vinslöv, but it turned out to be a rat that had entered a transformer station, says Björn Persson at Eon's press service.
The transformer station tripped completely and that's why so many people were affected.
Other animals that can cause this are birds that fly into power lines. Or beavers - as was first indicated on the outage map.
It's something we have to live with. We have a lot of power lines in the countryside, and there we have overhead lines that make us extra vulnerable, not least to beavers.
