The cryptocurrency bitcoin was during the afternoon trade up at a new record level of around 109,500 dollars per bitcoin.
The popular cryptocurrency has thus passed the record notation from January. Then bitcoin surged after Donald Trump, who is positively inclined towards cryptocurrencies, took office as the US president.
The following months saw the volatile currency's value fall to around 80,000 dollars per bitcoin, but is now back at record heights.
