The value of bitcoin continues to plummet and was in the initial Asian trade under 80,000 dollars, the lowest rate since November 2024.
A bitcoin was sold for 79,525 dollars during the early Friday morning, before the rate recovered somewhat. At its highest, the rate stood at 107,000 dollars on January 21 when Donald Trump returned to the White House as the President of the USA.
Other major cryptocurrencies have also plummeted in value in recent days, including ethereum.
The rates have been partially affected by a change in investors' risk appetite, among other things in the wake of uncertainties that have arisen with Trump's threats of tariffs and trade war.
