Bitcoin fell sharply from its historic high of over $126,000 in October last year to around $60,000 in February, but has quickly recovered to today's level since the beginning of April.
Shortly after trading above $80,000, the cryptocurrency lost some ground, falling to $70,800 during morning trading.
